Justin & Kayla : A Love Story

October 5, 2009

You can almost feel her heart skip a beat when she looks at him. And if you look closely at her beautiful greenish blue eyes, you can see the contentment in her spirit. There’s joy and  peace and happiness. Happiness for another chance at being able to hold her man close. The man who stole her heart and made her complete. Genuine joy that he is now back here with her after being separated from him by distance while he was honorably serving our country in Iraq for the last year.

For Justin & Kayla, it didn’t take very long for both of them to know that they belonged together. When they first met each other, they knew. That was all it took, they then spent the next few weeks falling in love. It all felt right, up to that moment that Justin proposed to her, determined  that neither time nor distance would ever keep them apart.

From the moment we met this beautiful couple, we immediately fell in love with their charm and their genuine passion for life and for each other. I just know that documenting their wedding next year will be ultra fabulous! They really are two of the most joyful people to be around and I’m so sure that this will be an indication of how fun and how full of love and laughter their wedding day will be.

We shot their engagement session a few weeks ago in Bayview Beach one early morning right before a rainstorm. We had dramatic clouds, great light, the beautiful and surreal low tide, and a couple that was genuinely in love. What else could we ask for. Here are the first few shots of the day and they turned out to be one of my favorites.

Amber & Brandon: Falling in love all over again.

September 19, 2009

One of the best things about our job is that we get to meet new people all the time. People fascinate me, with all their stories, their personalities, their quirkiness…all of these fascinate me to no end. So it was really exciting to meet this sweet couple who had this beautiful and inspiring story about their powerful bond. As we listened to them, Joe & I knew that we would only have to observe their love story unfold, listen with our hearts and with cameras in hand, capture this intangible and powerful bond between them and hope to make it tangible through our photography.

Here’s a shot that I was more than pleased with. There is something beautiful and ethereal about this shot and how the sun flare pattern appeared between them. The afternoon natural light and the Washington sun certainly performed for us that day! There were more than a few of these moments that unfolded before us and it was a true pleasure to be there and watch these two fall in love all over again. Thank you so much Amber & Brandon for allowing us to spend the afternoon with both of you~Joe & Toni

The light shines down on these two…

Waiting for the right moment as we captured the beautiful Edmonds sunset behind them.

travis + jessica: west beach: deception pass, wa engagement shoot

September 24, 2008

One look at Travis and it becomes quite evident how he adores Jessica. Quietly and beautifully. They complement each other perfectly. She is the talker, he is the listener. She laughs out loud and giggles and he quietly smiles. Just seeing the way Travis and Jessica interact with each other is like watching a scene from a fun, romantic movie, and you can’t help it but be engrossed in their story.

We are SO excited for Jessica and Travis’ wedding this November. She has an absolutely spectacular day planned, and Joe and I know that nothing is going to be overlooked. We are definitely looking forward to being there to document their beautiful day.

We headed out to West Beach, close to Deception Pass where the late afternoon light was spectacular and where this incredible image was captured. Truly one of my most favorite ones ever. There is something so ethereal and spiritual about this image.

Jessica is going to make one stunning bride.

We captured the beautiful late afternoon summer sun…

And the day ended with this beautiful dip…

Jessica and Travis, we are VERY excited to shoot your wedding this November. You are going to make one gorgeous couple. Your engagement shoot was so much fun. Thank you for being so great to work with!
