Justin & Kayla : A Love Story

October 5, 2009

You can almost feel her heart skip a beat when she looks at him. And if you look closely at her beautiful greenish blue eyes, you can see the contentment in her spirit. There’s joy andĀ  peace and happiness. Happiness for another chance at being able to hold her man close. The man who stole her heart and made her complete. Genuine joy that he is now back here with her after being separated from him by distance while he was honorably serving our country in Iraq for the last year.

For Justin & Kayla, it didn’t take very long for both of them to know that they belonged together. When they first met each other, they knew. That was all it took, they then spent the next few weeks falling in love. It all felt right, up to that moment that Justin proposed to her, determinedĀ  that neither time nor distance would ever keep them apart.

From the moment we met this beautiful couple, we immediately fell in love with their charm and their genuine passion for life and for each other. I just know that documenting their wedding next year will be ultra fabulous! They really are two of the most joyful people to be around and I’m so sure that this will be an indication of how fun and how full of love and laughter their wedding day will be.

We shot their engagement session a few weeks ago in Bayview Beach one early morning right before a rainstorm. We had dramatic clouds, great light, the beautiful and surreal low tide, and a couple that was genuinely in love. What else could we ask for. Here are the first few shots of the day and they turned out to be one of my favorites.

Treven + Christina: Engagement Shoot – Whatcom Falls, Bellingham

September 16, 2008

Last July, Joe & I headed up to Whatcom Falls in Bellingham to shoot an engagement session for another gorgeous couple, Christina and Treven, whose wedding we’ll be shooting in Lynden, Washington early next year! We can’t wait to shoot their wedding and we had so much fun spending the afternoon with shooting with them–they are such a fun, easygoing, and exciting to shoot couple.

From the very first shots we took, they were totally comfortable with each other.

Treven proposed to Christina at this spot! I just love these shots. So dreamy and romantic.

A little dip.

The shot above is from my perspective. I love how Joe managed to get the same series of shots from a different perspective. I love his eye, it’s way different than mine.

Then Joe headed headed to the other side of the bridge and took this shot from there. I love how moody and romantic this shot looks.

What troopers these two were, Joe took them down to the bottom of the bridge and got some cool shots by the falls. I stayed above the bridgeand got this shot of the two of them looking up at me.

Treven and Christina are a beautiful couple. I wanted to capture how gorgeous they are.

Treven and Christina thank you for spending the afternoon with us and not being afraid to be adventurous that day! We had a lot of fun. We can’t wait to shoot your wedding!
